It's officially the start of our season!
You are probably asking who has authorized this bold statement, well it was Sandra. She figured it was time to get the ball rolling; after all, she has several items on her offer sheet. All kidding aside, each day brings us closer to harvest of many of our specialty items.

The weather has been all over the place the past week, a bit of rain, a lot of sunshine and even a few 100°+ days. This is a fairly typical weather pattern for our area this time of year, but there is definitely a feel of autumn in the morning and evening air. And with autumn comes one of our favorite items....Goblin Fingers aka Buddha's Hand Citron.

Buddha's Hand tagged as Goblin Fingers will be available in approximately 2 weeks until Halloween. After October 31st they are still available with their standard tag.

The Satsuma crop is one of the finest looking that we have seen in several years. The fruit has beautiful smooth skin and the very desirable oblate shape. It's a little early to judge taste but the interior color is in a good stage of development. The majority of the fruit is going to fall in the large-jumbo-mammoth range with jumbo being the peak size. Our anticipated start date is November 1st.

We are all contributing time and energy to the Orange Cove Lions Club display at the Fresno County Fair. The fair runs from October 7th - 18th. The Lion's booth features over 100 varieties of citrus, all of which are grown in the county. All of the revenue generated from the booth gets donated back to this small agricultural based community.

October 23rd, 2009...that date might not have much significance to many people, but it's very important to us. That is the scheduled date of our HACCP and Food Safety Certification audit. We have all worked hard in preparation and are looking forward to seeing the project through to completion.

Green with Envy?

The industry is all a buzz about going green.

At Fruition Sales, we too, want to be a part of this whole green movement - to ensure a better environment for the future. We are just so busy with the cultural, harvesting and packing end of operation, that we thought it would be hard to be a part of it.
