This photo shows some of this season’s navels still on the tree to be picked alongside new blossoms which will end up as next year’s crop. So, the oranges that you see have been growing on the tree for close to a year and the blossoms are just beginning their season. In 25 years on this ranch, we have never seen the navels bloom in March. We usually don’t get to enjoy the fragrant evenings from the bloom until after the first week of April. We’re not sure how this will affect next year’s crop except that it will be ready to harvest early !!
